Our Past
Dr. Keith Gillming and his family came to St. Louis in 1982 to begin a work at Dorsett Road Baptist Church. They were aware of God's hand even in the days when the churh had only 50 or so attending. The board met weekly in prayer for God's guidance in expansion of our church property. The church approached a nieghbor about buying her land and she tripled the valued price of the land. We offered double what it was worth, and she was about to take it, when she abruptly called it off. Through our disappointment God was working. A deacon informed Pastor Gillming of  some land on Lindbergh and that he new the owner.  The 3 1/4 acre lot was valued at more than $700,000. Much more than we could ever dream of. The property had two liens against it. The first for $500,000 and the second from a bank for $270,000. The vice president of the bank was by God's design a brother of one of our deacons and settled for pennies on the dollar. The other lien was a company who had been bought out 3 times already and considered it  nuesance. They wrote the lien off completely. We sold our 1 acre old location, moved into our new 3 1/4 acre location, and burned our note in the first service. We changed the name to Lighthouse Baptist Church. God worked in over 34 different people to make this happen and only He deserves the praise and glory for it!

Our Present
Since those days we have added a service, two seperate additions, a property expansion, developed a place for our childrens ministry and have seen a host of salvations and baptisms. We average about 350 in attendance and have multiple opportunities for you fellowship and worship with us. Our goal is to see every person Connect ~ Grow ~ Serve. Connect to God through worship and a relationship. Grow by getting involved in Sunday School, Small Groups and Bible Study. Serve by helping others cannect and grow.

Our Future
By the end of 2010 we should be debt free. Paying off over $1,000,000 in just four years. God has led, is leading and will be sought to lead Lightouse into the future. We ask that He opens the doors for us to go through and close the ones we are to avoid. Whether it is building, relocating or seeing people connect-grow-serve we will faithfully follow God. Don't miss the opportunity to see  God at work at Lighthouse Baptist Church.
